Floors

Last weeks Sedaris Hardwoods sanded, stained, and satin-coated our red pine parquet floors.

These floors hadn't been sanded since their installation over sixty-three years ago.

This is the living room after the stain and finish coats.

These vent boxes come apart.  I spray painted the frame and vent blades with black enamel and, as shown in this photo, used a dark bronze metallic finish for the covers.  Tomorrow I'll put them in place.

  1. The house looks great! From my earliest memories, I can't recall a time not knowing that house. The house had been in my family for generations, I guess. I'm Ted's and Rena's youngest daughter. If you don't mind and if it is convenient for you, the next time I am in Raleigh, can I come see?

  2. Hi Courtney - yes! You and your family are welcome to stop by anytime. The house has a great spirit and we loved hearing stories from your mom and aunt. We are officially moving in this weekend! If you need to get in touch my email is sumner.tracy2@gmail.com.
